AREA SALES MANAGER - NEW ZEALAND (m/f/d) 

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy and Planning: The ASM develops and executes sales strategies to meet the company’s objectives, identifying key targets and opportunities within their area.
  • Forecasting: Provide accurate input for the quarterly sales forecast and the process for sales, production and inventory planning of the local entity as well as for the intercompany business.
  • Customer Relationship Management: They build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including farmers, dealers, and other stakeholders. This includes addressing customer needs, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Market Analysis: The ASM monitors market trends, competitor activity, and customer demands to ensure the company stays competitive and can adapt its offerings accordingly. They motivate and expand an active dealer network for LEMKEN in the sales area.
  • Product Knowledge: They need a deep understanding of the company’s machinery, technology, and features to effectively communicate and demonstrate the benefits of the products to potential clients.
  • Sales Performance: The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for meeting or exceeding sales targets through the promotion and sale of machinery, parts, and services. This includes budget and forecast planning, inventory management within the assigned territory, as well as negotiating pricing, closing deals, and overseeing the delivery of products. The ASM ensures that delivery timelines are effectively managed and clearly communicated to both customers and the factory, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and operational transparency.
  • Collaboration: They collaborate with internal and global teams, such as Marketing, Product Management, R&D and Logistics, to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Training and Support: In some cases, they might provide training to dealers or customers on machinery usage and maintenance.
  • Marketing and Advertisement: The ASM organizes individual demonstrations, field days, trade fairs and sales promotion activities as well as contents for social media postings and articles/advertisements in different journals, magazines, websites.
  • Reporting: The ASM is reporting activities on a regular basis to the management.
  • Other tasks as assigned or required.

 

Your skills and qualifications: 

  • Bachelors’ degree in Ag Business/Engineering or 4+ years related work experience in a territorial or regional sales role
  • Agricultural background needed / highly desirable
  • Technical understanding
  • Experienced with Social Media tools, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and comfortable with new technology
  • Being ready for extensive domestic travel and occasional international travel (in total up to 60%)
  • Holds valid passport and driver’s license
